The Strongest Industry You’ve Never Heard of
David Lavalle, founder of fellow Neighborly company Mr. Handyman, discovered a need for a home maintenance specialist much of America had never seen before. Homeowners’ laundry rooms were underperforming. Frequent dryer hazards, malfunctions and breakdowns share a common culprit: poorly installed or improperly maintained dryer vents.
In response to that demand, Dryer Vent Wizard was launched in 2004. We’ve since become the leading company specializing in residential, business and multi-unit dryer vent cleaning, repairing and installation in the U.S. What’s more, we’re one of the only – and by far the largest – national franchise specific to our industry, with steady growth since our inception.
We’ve got the right expertise in a dramatically underrepresented market. We’re passionate about offering excellent service, homeowner safety and having an absolute blast while we do it. All of this, combined with the community and business benefits of the Neighborly system, builds up to a remarkable opportunity for entrepreneurs to get things flowing toward the future and lifestyle they’ve been searching for.
Dryer Vent Wizard Brand Growth
Our industry is young and growing quickly. Only 30-40 years ago, the majority of American homes were designed with the laundry room against an exterior wall, which meant quick and easy ventilation. More recently, builders began prioritizing homeowner convenience, moving laundry rooms nearer to the bedrooms. The result? Longer dryer vent ducts, a less direct path for airflow, and the perfect conditions for lint buildup and blockage. Our niche industry was born.
Everyone knows their dryer’s lint screen needs cleaning after every load of laundry, but few realize the risk of lint accumulation and blockage in its vents. Symptoms like excess lint buildup on clothes, longer drying times, overheating and dryer damage get our phones ringing, but they’re also warning signs of potentially serious danger. Tragically, an average of over 15,000 dryer fires are reported each year – many of which may have been avoided with the specialized attention we provide. We see it as our duty to prevent that number from getting any higher.
Severely clogged dryer vents will prevent the dryer from working properly. Homeowners will call a costly appliance repairman only to find that the problem isn’t the dryer… it’s the vent! Repair centers refer those customers to us. After their clogged vents have been serviced by one of our franchisees, customers can potentially expect a savings of approximately $18 to $24 per month off of their energy bill. Vent cleaning has become a necessity.
Customer service is our number one priority. Our franchisees take the time to explain what services are needed and educate the customer on why it is important to have a properly functioning dryer vent that is up to building code. Customers truly appreciate our approach and the quality service we provide. Don’t believe us? Here are just a few of the thousands of customer testimonials we have received over the years.
